About

Translation agency

Lexitrad was founded in 1991 by Ivor Coward, a graduate in Economics and Social Sciences at Leicester University, England.
Ivor combined his enterprising spirit with the desire to serve an ever-widening market by drawing on a team of qualified internal and external collaborators.
Ivor is still honoured to retain many original customers, whose loyalty attests to how their needs are catered to in ad hoc, optimised services.

Working method

At Lexitrad we believe that personal dialogue is always the best approach so you will have a personal contact with whom to update on your projects as they progress.
After analysing the type of work, and agreeing on the budget and delivery date, you can let the Lexitrad team take care of the details while you get on with other things.
Lexitrad's resources consist of the best experienced mother-tongue linguists and a proven method - developed during the 2017 ISO certification - that combines professional skills with the right technological content, creating a mix that optimises the needs of each project.

Who we work for

Lexitrad is committed to serving companies, organisations, professionals and individuals with translations of the highest quality, delivered with excellent service (customer care, timing and budget).
In over three decades, the number of customers has been close to 2,000 with a high degree of retention, testifying to mutual trust and satisfaction.
Along with small- and medium-sized companies and local law firms, Lexitrad provides support to several national and international companies and institutions, including the SAVE Group (Airports of Venice Treviso, Verona, Brescia and Charleroi), Benetton, Acqua Minerale San Benedetto, and publishing houses such as Elemond, Electa and Skira.

Ivor Coward

With a BA Economics in the Social Sciences from Leicester University, I worked for five years in London before moving to Italy in 1988, where I gained experience with international firms (a container shipping company and an engineering firm). After launching and developing a successful translations studio in Mestre, in 2010 I established Lexitrad as a niche studio to provide personalised translation services to exacting clients.

With over 30 years in the sector, I’ve developed the Lexitrad method, which is about always focusing on the client's needs in order to optimise every single project.

I enjoy being active in the local communities of business and Brits in Italy: Venice Area Secretary of the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy (1997-2000), member of the Innovative-Services section of Unindustria (2000-2010), and Honorary British Consul for Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia (2000-2029).
